Seasonal Scouting FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Seasonal Scouting is a 12-week Cub Scout program led by highly qualified staff and held once a week for 90 minutes. Participants earn their grade-specific badge of rank plus two additional elective Adventures, completing a total of 10 Adventures, for a total cost of $300*.

This program is not intended to replace traditional Cub Scouting. Traditional Cub Scout packs will continue to operate as normal. Seasonal Scouting is being offered as a pilot to explore whether Scouting should take a different approach and to better meet the needs of families who may be looking for a more flexible or time-limited option.

During the testing phase, the program will be available only to youth in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades and may be a good fit for families in the area whose schedules or preferences differ from the traditional model.

The program fee is $300 for the full 12-week session.

Seasonal Scouting is open to all youth in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade.

All sessions are facilitated by highly qualified and trained adults with professional youth-development experience, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and other individuals who work within school systems.

Seasonal Scouting may be hosted at schools, civic centers, or Camp Seton, based on community interest and the availability of qualified leaders.

Programs may be offered Monday through Friday.

Each youth will register for one designated weekday (Monday through Friday) and will attend the program on that same day each week.

Seasonal Scouting runs from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Parents are welcome to observe or remain onsite during sessions; however, parent attendance is optional.

Each session is 90 minutes in length.

Each session is capped at a maximum of 30 participants to ensure a high-quality experience.

Copies of the curriculum can be provided upon request.
