Scouts Today. Leaders Tomorrow.
Scouting America, Greenwich prepares youth for life through outstanding programs that inspire adventure, build character, and instill the values young people need to succeed today and lead tomorrow. Chartered in 1912, Greenwich Council has proudly served generations of local youth for more than a century and is unique in Scouting as a council dedicated to serving a single community, the Town of Greenwich.
Discovery is at the heart of Scouting. Whether it’s a campout, Pinewood Derby, hike on the trail, service project, or a new challenge at camp, every adventure gives young people an opportunity to discover more about themselves and the world around them. Through these experiences, Scouts develop confidence, resilience, humility, and compassion while learning the importance of service, responsibility, and leadership.
Greenwich Scouting has a remarkable history. Noted author, naturalist, and Scouting pioneer Ernest Thompson Seton served as the Council’s first president. His legacy continues at the 239-acre Ernest Thompson Seton Scout Reservation, dedicated in 1960 and known throughout the community as Camp Seton. With two lakes, five miles of hiking trails, campsites, lean-tos and cabins, an outdoor swimming pool, climbing tower, and year-round program facilities, Camp Seton provides an extraordinary setting for adventure, learning, and personal growth.
For more than 100 years, Greenwich Council has brought Scouting to young people through programs rooted in character, citizenship, leadership, and the outdoors. Supported by dedicated volunteers, families, community partners, and professional staff, we continue that tradition today, creating experiences that prepare Greenwich youth for a lifetime of leadership and service.
