The Friends of Scouting campaign is conducted annually among the parents of Scouts and volunteers. Families are the ones who see firsthand the benefit of Scouting for their child. District and unit volunteers conduct the campaign to give all Scouting families the opportunity to support Greenwich Scouting.
We also involve business and community leaders in the Friends of Scouting program. These leaders recognize the value of a future workforce trained and ready to deliver superior results in a competitive global market. Youth instilled with character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness are vital to the future success of any competitive business.
The Greenwich Council conducts an annual Golf Tournament each September at the Round Hill Club in Greenwich. Individuals and teams compete in a round of golf and putting contest and bid on valuable items in the silent and live auctions. Funds raised support the programs and services provided by the council.
The Greenwich Council, Boy Scouts of America, Inc. Endowment Fund is one of the three funds of local Scouting. The other two are Operating and Capital. Gifts can be made to the Endowment Fund through several methods, such as the James E. West Award, Scouting Heritage Society, 1910 Society, and the Boy Scouts of America Founders Circle. Each of these programs has specific requirements for donations.
The future of Greenwich Scouting is dependent on a sound financial foundation. The development of an adequate endowment fund is vital to the long-range fiscal stability of the Greenwich Council and the development of its youth members.
Matching gifts are a vital program in many companies. Don't forget that many companies do "match" or even “double match” their employee's donation.
